Andrea is a New Jersey and New York Tri State area photographers and workshop leader. She lives and works at the Jersey Shore in the beautiful beach destination of Long Branch. She specializes large group multi generational family portraits, couples and Headshots in her daylight studio “A Phox Studio” in West End, NJ and on location in the surrounding wooded areas and all along the Seashore.

She has an affinity for classic Hollywood style poses and she uses her cinematic training to tell stories.

 In 1980 Andrea received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, with a double major in sculpture and painting and a minor in film.

After her undergrad studies she attended the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, as part of her graduate path.

For 25 years she worked as an IATSE Local 600 union camera assistant on major motion pictures, she worked with many academy award-winning cinematographers, directors and actors.

She is currently Resident Photographer at the New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch, New Jersey. 

Andrea is a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA)since 2005.  She is a CPP and been awarded two degrees,  Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman.  She was awarded the New Jersey Associate Fellowship Degree from the Professional Photographers Association of New Jersey (PPANJ) and was named New Jersey Professional Photographers Association’s “2023 “Best in Show” Photographer. She is currently President of PPANJ since 2020 and will relinquish her position in 2024. She received a Platinum Medal when three of her blue ribbon prints became part of the prestigious loan collection that showcases the best of the best in the IPC International Photographic Competition. Her additional merits which include books and publications such as  Professional Photographers of America’s  2014, 2015 and 2016 “Loan Book,”  Shoshana Katzman’s 2008 “Qi Gong For Staying Young” and 2003 “Art of Seeing,” a juried creative photography book published by Alcove Books.
