When you decide it’s time for an environmental family portrait there are a few things you should be ready for. One very important fact I want to share today is the reality that you will need either two different dates for your session or a cover set in case of inclement weather.
For example a strong west wind that bring black flies to the beach makes posing and looking happy very challenging. You will need a cover set if this is the only day the family can be together for this photo. I have been collecting cover sets for 20 years. This family wanted beach photos. On our session day we went to the beach we photographed together but frankly everyone was cold and it showed in their body language and their faces. We ran over to this cover set and got a beautiful family image that hangs in their living room today.
